Manic Monday

Ohhhh Monday.

How did you get here so fast? You annoy me.

rocky road cookie dough

#1- This big ‘ol mess of delicious got turned into cookies. They might just be my favorite cookies in the universe. You know, until I make more cookies that I like better. But for right this minute these cookies are reigning supreme. Just wait till later this week. You’ll see.

#2- One of my favorite things about Stumble Upon is that it frequently stumbles me onto THESE FANTASTIC STREET ART POSTS. I could seriously marvel at them for hours. The creativity and vision of those around us never ceases to amaze me. I always love the 3D in-the-ground images and the street sign graffiti. The Mario mosaic caught my eye, I adore the Ghostbusters logo traffic sign, and I wish the Legos holding up the building at the end were in my neighborhood. My kids would totally lose their minds.

Recite

#3- THIS SITE is too much fun. “Turn a quote into a Masterpiece”.

#4- So listen. I know I am like 34 months behind on this one, but I actually have a decent excuse. Breaking Bad. Any watchers? I’ve been a fan since the show started and then went back last year and watched all the episodes over again with Chad because he’d never seen it. It is serious. I LOVE IT. We watch it together which is why I’m not caught up yet (really you guys, I’m on like episode 5 season 5 or something so don’t give anything away!!), because it is suuuper rare that we sit down to watch TV together, but also Chad gets these “save the show” notions where he won’t watch stuff to save it for later. I AM NOT PATIENT. Annnd I just read somewhere that another episode airs on July 14th. I know that’s really far away, but probably my boyfriend has made me hang on to these last few episodes for about that long sooo yeah. I’m excited.

#5- THIS is funny. Give it a second. If that’s not your thing, you’ll like THIS. It’s a social experiment that never fails to crack me up.

Norma Jean; upside down kitty

#6- Some of you might be wondering WHY, since Lucy came to live with us, am I still including the Manic Monday segment on what the h*ll is Norma Jean thinking? Well, I’ll tell you. I’m sure that Lucy will have her moments, but no one- and I do mean NO ONE – is as crazy as Norma Jean. This upside down under-the-couch-crawl is her newest plan of Lucy attack. You will never see her coming.

#7- I have A TON of new readers! And I am happy and thankful and wanna share cookies. If you’ve made it to the end of this Manic Monday post then know that this is a weekly thing because Mondays basically are kinda crummy. Reader submissions of anything sure to make the rest of us smile are so welcome– I really like hearing from you! Feel free to email me your fun stuff — heather [at] sugardishme [dot] com OR leave your submissions in the comments.

Have a super week!!

  1. I hate Mondays. Thank you for the lift! And that Norma Jean–you just better hope she doesn’t get control of your computer and write her own memoir. Cats are that way.

    • Norma. Is crazy. She loves to nap on my laptop and Google crazy things. She also turns on my html editor regularly on pages that can’t be edited. Like Facebook. So you’re probably right. I’d bet Norma would get a book deal before I would.

  2. Omgosh! I will NEVER forget holding a strangers hand in a grocery store when I was about 5 years old. The horror and embarrasment I felt when I realized it wasn’t my mom! lol It’s etched in my memory forever! Have a great week, Heather!

    • Haha that is so funny! I think I did that a time or two. I guess it didn’t scar me much though. I think I’d probably hold a strangers hand and be fine with it.

  3. Thank you for making my monday a little better my friend ;)

    Cheers

  4. I love those street art pics too – they totally amaze me! And I love that ‘Recite’ quote-to-masterpiece site almost as much – watch this (well my blog) space! Breaking Bad and I don’t know where we stand with each other still – when I start watching it, I have to keep watching, and yet I still maintain I don’t really like it. Weird. I love the hand holding thing – I’ve seen it before, but I’d forgotten about it and it always makes me smile (and wonder what my reaction would be if someone did it to me!) This Harlem Shake thing has totally crept up on me out of nowhere and left me wondering what on earth it’s all about! This Manic Monday post TOTALLY helped my day today – I have not been having a good one, but this brought a smile or two…or three…

    • I don’t know what my deal is– I love Breaking Bad. Walt is SO unlikable (and in the beginning he was so geeky & had so much loyalty!), his wife– even worse. I can’t ever feel bad for her character because I find her so completely annoying. And then there’s Jesse. I love his character. Who would think the meth-head addict would be the only guy with his head on straight?
The hand-holding thing is great! All those videos on his channel are pretty funny. Social experiments are fun! Like that show “What Would You Do?” I love it. I only know about the Harlem shake because I have a 12-year-old. It’s how I stay in the loop. Glad I made your Monday a little better!!! ;)

  5. HelloMyNameIs

    • Thanks, Michelle! Norma Jean is so great. She’s a mess though, straight up. I can’t wait for the cookie recipe either! I have 2 this week. I heart cookies.
