#1- We were out running errands for most of Saturday after Chad got home from work. When I came home, there was a package from Deanna at SOLE Food Kitchen on the porch. It was full of GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!!!!!!!! I ate 4 Samoas (what is this “”Caramel deLites” nonsense on the box? These are SAMOAS.) immediately. Those were soon followed by 2 more, plus some Thin Mints annnnddd… Girl Scout cookies are like cookie crack. I feel fat and happy. That is all.
#2- Remember when I made caramelized onion grilled cheese sandwiches and whined about my dryer kicking the bucket? Well. I started shopping for a new dryer, consumer-report-reading and price-comparing and stressing out about how much stupid appliances cost, all the while knowing that I am a girl that thoroughly enjoys a warm fluffy towel and a snug pair of dryer-dried jeans (on a skinny day). There are no clothes lines in my future. I got frustrated with the whole process and decided to whine at Chad until he finally agreed to take the dryer apart and genuinely determine what was the matter. He fixed the dryer for $15.68. I love him.
#3- THIS little girl making scrambled eggs with her mama makes my heart so so so happy.
#4- Ancho Chile Chicken Burrito from Qdoba. Because my life can never ever have enough Mexican cuisine. Ever.
#5- We went to see Identity Thief with Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman this past Saturday. LOVED IT. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a good comedy to go see. I really dig Melissa McCarthy anyway, and now I love her even more.
In the middle of the movie two totally random things happened– first some guy two rows behind me started snoring REALLY loudly (not indicative at all of the caliber of this movie I promise, but definitely a good indicator that the 9:55 showtime was past ‘ol buddy’s curfew). Then someone (the same super rude dude? maybe, I’m but not positive) answered their phone and proceeded to have a REALLY loud conversation during a quiet part of the movie like as if there weren’t a hundred other people sharing the theater that paid a decent chunk of change to not be interrupted by his obvious disinterest. People were exchanging glances and annoyed whispers. I tolerated it for about 10.3 seconds before I turned around with the eyebrow-raised death glare that I inherited from my dad and said, “Are you freaking kidding me right now?!” He hung up the phone.
#6- This NERF gun has a laser light. It is Norma Jean’s favorite toy. Someone forgot to put it away. And now she is armed and peering at us through her evil kitty eye slits. In other What the h*ll is Norma Jean thinking news, she had a freaking field day with the pepper plants Chad has spent the last two months cultivating. Leaves tossed everywhere like plant confetti. He was pretty mad. She could care less. I bought her some cat grass. I hope it works.
#7- Another weird kitty.

Glad you like the cookies! And what the heck with the names. They will always be Samoas, Tagalongs and Trefoils to me, too. That little girl is too cute. Makes me wish I had taken more video of Ellie when she was little–wow, that time goes by so fast. And Norma Jean, well, let’s just hope she doesn’t apply for a concealed carrying permit
Happy Monday, Heather!

DEANNA!!! I love the cookies. I can’t believe we still have 3 boxes left out of the 4. That is serious self control right there. Thank you so so so much! That little girl makes me smile every time I see her. She is the cutest little thing!!! Norma is completely off her rocker. Have a great week!!
Esme used to love the Nerf laser toy the boys had. I bought an automatic laser pointer that moves automatically and then turns off after 15 minutes.

I have one of those too! But Norma is way more into the NERF gun. She stalks the auto one but no crazy acrobatics.
Girl Scout Cookies are crack!! But I guess when you’re in a non profit organization, you gotta sell some crack to pay the bills! (JUST KIDDING!) Is it just me, or have the boxes gotten way smaller? I could easily eat a whole box and not even notice.

I feel so much better now to know that I am not alone in my complete lack of self control. My logic is that I can only binge on them once a year so… I’m all in. I can’t even buy those cookies here (which is why Deanna is so amazing & sent me some) so I’m cool with eating the whole box. The boxes ARE smaller. Except the Thin Mints. I think those are the same. I hope the calorie police never ever take away those cookies. I would just die.
Yay chad on the dryer fix! Norma jean is crazy! Watch your back. And kids are the same everywhere. Adorable!
CHAD. He is so awesome. $15.68. Amazing. Norma Jean is sleeping on a stack of sweatshirts in the closet right now. Not shooting yet.
I always refer to them as Samoas and everyone corrects me as if it was a different cookie. On that note, you should go to gizoogle.com and type in your blog URL. I’m dying laughing
Ps: I’m Mackenzie, one of Spencer’s friends who promoted your site to me
Hi, Mackenzie!!
People correct me when I call them Samoas, too! So annoying. That Caramel deLites crap is a new thing, right? It’s like everyone was cookie brainwashed. And What the wow! Whyyyyyyy have I never seen gizoogle before? My brother’s are seriously falling down on their make-me-laugh jobs.
If you like the cookies you should check out this site http://betsylife.com/2012/03/07/samoa-bundt-cake/
I want to make this cake.—Rachel
I have a whole ridiculous list of Girl Scout inspired recipes I wanna try. I’ve never seen that cake before, though! It’s on the list. Thanks, Rachel!
I miss Samoas! So jealous! So glad your dryer is fixed, good work Chadster!!! Yay!!! I feel the same way about Mexican food, it’s the best!!! And I would have screamed at the guy in the movies so I’m glad you called him out on it..some people have no manners seriously!!! P.S. I love Norma Jean!!! haha
I actually just bought a few boxes of GS cookies not so much because I like them, but the little girl selling them also gave away a page from her coloring book with each purchase.. She must have colored 50 pages.. she’s already learning about customer satisfaction
Oh my word that melts my heart. I would have bought cookies 6 times.
GS cookies!! I did not like my daughter selling them when she was a GS, so what’d I do?? Bought a bazillions boxes myself, and proceeded to overdose on them, froze them and gave them away! Memories…
You are a lucky girl to have talented Chad fix that dryer!! Love your Manic Monday posts, even if it is Tuesday

Manic Monday sometimes spills into Tuesday. The Girl Scout cookies are so awesome… I can’t even handle it!! So funny that you bought them all from your daughter. I’d probably do the same thing but for hoarding reasons.
Good on you for shutting up rude cinema guy! And good on Chad for fixing the dryer! And good on Rino for cooking those eggs (how cute is she?!) And good on Deanna for sending you cookies – friends with cookies (as we’ve said before) are the best kind!!
