Manic Monday

Manic Monday; Chad & Heather

#1- I mentioned a few times towards the end of last week that there was some sadness in our family, and while Manic Monday is usually kind of ridiculous, I’m gonna use this forum to explain for just a minute. This past Wednesday evening, Chad’s grandpa passed away. We have spent the last 5 days grieving the loss, obviously. But more than that we have been celebrating the life of a man I count myself lucky to have known. The man that taught Chad who and how to be. A man that was joyful and happy and genuinely loved ALL the people he encountered. A man that had more musical talent in his pinky finger than most of us will have in our whole lives. A man that was silly, played practical jokes, and loved to laugh all of his 83 years. Chad was raised by his grandparents and with his grandpa he shared the most special of bonds. His grandpa taught him how to swim, how to “blow the train whistle” (a talent that still fascinates my children every single time), and how to be a hard-working good and upstanding man. Grandpa– you will be missed.

#2- This seems fitting. Little kids are hilarious because they have no filter. This is what happens when you give a bunch of kids a marker, a dry erase board, and then let them write letters to God. Awesome, insightful, and also I can’t stop laughing.

Manic Monday; PEACH

#3- I bought the first GIANT basket of fresh South Carolina peaches yesterday. So get ready. There  is all kindsa peachiness coming at you. These things are so flipping good.

Manic Monday; Burpees#4- Because of everything going on this week my workout routine is in the garbage can and I am feeling it. I have some making up to do. Probably burpees. Which might be the most awful exercise ever invented in the history of the universe.

Manic Monday; Watermelon Punch

#5 – Want want want this Watermelon Punch from My Whole Food Life. Also I think maybe this punch would like some vodka? Or rum? Either way– it’s gorgeous.

Manic Monday; Sleepy Norma

#6- The boys came home from Grammy’s house on Saturday and of course dumped their bag smack in the middle of the floor (we have laundry fairies that magically make the dirty clothes disappear… NOT). I think Norma really missed them because not 5 minutes later she was straight up passed out on top of the laundry. This is one sleepy and content kitty.

#7- A huge thank you to all of you that expressed your concern and sent along hugs last week before I even let you know exactly what was going on. This continues to be the most gracious and supportive community and I appreciate it like you wouldn’t believe. And a GREAT BIG thank you to my girls at Amazing Recipes for blasting Sugar Dish Me all over social media to help me in my absence. You all are super and I owe you brownies.

P.S. If you haven’t entered the giveaway for Amazing Recipes do it now!! We are handing out a $100  Amazon gift card to one lucky fan.

Have a super week!!!!

Oh, Heather - I'm so sorry to hear about Chad's Grandpa, but those are some wonderful memories and he sounds like he was a great guy. I have no idea what burpees is, but since it sounds like a baby sicking it's milk back up, I hate it already. My workout 'routine' has been royally screwed by the heat - attempting to get back to some sort of exercise - hopefully that'll get easier nex week once school ends! And in honour of the peaches, and to bring you some peachy-sunshiney-cheer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvcohzJvviQ

Only knowing what you have told me, I imagine that chads grandpa has sight restored a healthy body a guitar by his side and a fat little dog in his lap. That sounds like his heaven.
