It’s time again for the Surprise Recipe Swap!
This month I chose my recipe with strawberry season in mind and thankfully, Krista at A Handful of Everything had something that was right up my alley: these Strawberries and Cream scones.

Strawberries and Cream Scones – Surprise Recipe Swap
Buffalo Croutons

I’m taking a quick break from all the sweet happiness I’ve been blasting your email boxes with to share one of my other great true food loves: BUFFALO everything. Buffalo Croutons.
And you know, when sorting through my archives for other buffalo recipes, there aren’t that many! Which is weird because if it has buffalo sauce I am there. With blue cheese? Even better.

Strawberry Lemonade Loaf
Today is a really really REALLY special day. It kind of blows my mind, actually.
This day, 13 years ago, I became Andrew’s mom.
Biscoff Banana Bread
So by now you guys all know my words to live by: If you can read, you can cook.
And it’s true!! You can turn out some pretty freaking amazing food just by following a simple set of instructions. This Biscoff Banana Bread is no different.
When I was little I used to sit on the kitchen floor and spin my mom’s Lazy Susan (Did your mom have a Lazy Susan? I thought that thing was so cool– like a secret corner cabinet full of things that my mom only sometimes used. And who was Susan? I think I’d be slightly peeved about that Lazy Susan label…) round and round looking for her stack of cookbooks and that little orange box of baking soda.
Strawberry Shortcake Milkshakes
Well. It happened.
We went straight from using the heat to needing the air conditioner with like one day of transition in between which kind of sucks because all I really wanna do is leave the windows open and stop paying the power company. This must be why people live in California.
Cinnamon Raisin English Muffin Toast
I’m gonna need you to sit down for this.
No seriously.
I think this might be the best thing I ever made. Not even kidding.
Slow Cooker Beef, Beer & Barley Stew in Bread Bowls
Well.
I was very busy during our 15 minutes of snow this past weekend. . Winter Storm 2013!!!! It really cracks me up when the weather people get all freaked out and give us round-the-clock precipitation coverage in our very extra mild climate and then name the weather things that sound like clever Starbucks drinks. “Wintry Mix!” “Icy Blast!” Those both sound rather tasty to me.

Whole Wheat Poppy Seed Bagels
Breakfast will forever be my favorite meal.
And bagels will forever be one of my favorite foods.
We have not one single bagel bakery in Nowheresville, North Carolina. Dunkin’ Donuts is about 25 miles away (and their coffee tastes like sugary milk. Sorry DD. Can’t handle it.) and our grocery store doesn’t make bagels in their bakery. One of the vendors at our farmer’s market sells bagels. But it’s January.
Banana Oatmeal Muffins
There is HEALTH squished into these muffins.
Since it’s January and I know you guys want healthy things in your lives. I want healthy things in my life, too. But also chocolate. It’s a balancing act.
Muffins help me walk the line. Feels like a cupcake. Fills like oatmeal. Annnd there’s fruit. It’s good stuff.

Spiced Sweet Potato Biscuits
Because sweet potatoes are good for you.
Because in a few days people will be making a bunch of crazy biscuit-free resolutions and you need these before that happens!
