It’s time again for the Surprise Recipe Swap!
This month I chose my recipe with strawberry season in mind and thankfully, Krista at A Handful of Everything had something that was right up my alley: these Strawberries and Cream scones.

Breakfast Quesadillas

This is a very great end to a very busy week.
I’ve had too much to do and not enough time to do it– you know that feeling, right?
My kitchen currently looks like a disaster relief zone. It might actually qualify as a hard-hat area. No one call OSHA okay?

I think it’s time for a Lucy update.
My little Lucy girl is getting big!! If you’re new around here you can read more about Lucy here and here.
She is my snuggly little companion. She is smart and sweet and might be the laziest puppy ever.

Cinnamon Raisin English Muffin Toast
I’m gonna need you to sit down for this.
No seriously.
I think this might be the best thing I ever made. Not even kidding.
Surprise Recipe Swap- Prosciutto & Provolone Baked Egg Breakfast

I’m participating again this month in the Surprise Recipe Swap which, if you missed last month’s swap- a Honey Mustard Vinaigrette Salad with Goat Cheese Pastries - is basically like the internet version of tearing recipes out of the 2-year-old magazines sitting on waiting room coffee tables, because umm… I never ever did anything like that.

Peanut Butter Banana Whole Wheat Pancakes
It’s been awhile since I blasted you with breakfast. It’s still my favorite. Nothing’s changed so don’t worry.
For a couple of months I felt like my recipes were about 85% breakfast between all the muffins, scones, and egg bakes. Deanna thought maybe I should open up a breakfast joint because I was talking about pancakes, bacon, and eggs like every. single. day.

Whole Wheat Poppy Seed Bagels
Breakfast will forever be my favorite meal.
And bagels will forever be one of my favorite foods.
We have not one single bagel bakery in Nowheresville, North Carolina. Dunkin’ Donuts is about 25 miles away (and their coffee tastes like sugary milk. Sorry DD. Can’t handle it.) and our grocery store doesn’t make bagels in their bakery. One of the vendors at our farmer’s market sells bagels. But it’s January.
Banana Oatmeal Muffins
There is HEALTH squished into these muffins.
Since it’s January and I know you guys want healthy things in your lives. I want healthy things in my life, too. But also chocolate. It’s a balancing act.
Muffins help me walk the line. Feels like a cupcake. Fills like oatmeal. Annnd there’s fruit. It’s good stuff.

Spiced Sweet Potato Biscuits
Because sweet potatoes are good for you.
Because in a few days people will be making a bunch of crazy biscuit-free resolutions and you need these before that happens!
Double Chocolate Almond Biscotti
So If you’ve followed Sugar Dish Me for any time at all you know that I rely heavily on coffee. It is my favorite treat. I like it even more than chocolate (because, um, you can actually put chocolate IN coffee… no decision required, really). First thing in the morning, or when I need a little re-charge in the afternoon, or when I tuck into the sofa in the evening to write a little bit or watch something on the TV, I love having my fingers curled around a mug of coffee. I don’t necessarily drink it all day like some do. But I love the ritual of making it, I love the smell, I love my red flowerdy mug with the teensy chip in the rim that fits my hands just perfectly.
