Manic Monday

Coconutty; Manic Monday

Manic Monday is here! {on time this week! Whew!}

#1- I tried out some fresh coconut recipes over the weekend. It really is an amazing ingredient. I used this tutorial on How to Handle a Fresh Coconut -- it was some seriously helpful reading. And then I added coconut to everything for two days. Annnd there's still more. All this coconut is making me crave Almond Joys. Do you have a favorite coconut recipe? Leave me a link!

Spiders; Manic Monday

#2- I am terrified to leave my house after dark. And not because I'm afraid of the dark or anything. It's because there are trees all around our house and in order for me to get from either door to the driveway or the street to walk Miss Lucy, I have to walk under the trees. And the thing is, normally I am a huge fan of trees. But when the sun goes down, out of the trees come the SPIDERS. My yard is like one huge spider minefield. It is the scariest thing ever. It actually paralyzes me. So when we come in from the gym in the evening and Chad starts towards the house without me I basically just stand there in the driveway fah-reaking out until he comes to get me. Then I make him walk in front of me while I duck and cling to his shirt so he can catch all the spidery monsters. Just in case. Oh! And there's one that likes to build his house across the top of the front door so if you step out to walk Lucy at 6 am before your coffee and you aren't paying attention, you might just get a spider in the face and then you might run through the yard frantically trying to wipe creepy cobwebs off you while you wonder just exactly where in your hair that spider might be.

Sugar Canister; Manic Monday

#3- So here's some cool news: I have recently joined up with Target AND World Market to offer you guys some super steals on nifty housewares and things. The timing for this really couldn't be any better because with all the house shopping that's happening I am just itching to snag a few new house-ey things. Is there such a thing as a house-warming registry? Just kidding. Anyway, right off the bat I found these cute little canisters with chalkboard labels. I installed a happy Target bullseye if you scroll down a little, to aid with your (MY) Target shopping addiction.

#4- I love happy animal things. This makes my heart just smile like crazy. SO sweet.

#5- The 30 most amazing burger recipes fromThe Cheese & Burger Society and Wisconsin Cheese. Be prepared for intense cheeseburger cravings.

Norma and Gidget; Manic Monday

#6- This is what happens when I try to fold laundry. These girls knock it into the floor and then try to hide in the warm dryer-fresh clothes. I'm sure you can't tell from Norma's slightly crazy looking face but she is seriously happy about this laundry. And she just looks crazy all the time anyway. She has Bitchy Resting Face. It's a real thing. Gidget just looks plain old adorable. Here is a second look. (Lucy doesn't care a thing about any of this. She just wants to nap.

  5. Look like a crazy woman when you go outside at night, carry a broom & don't be afraid to swing it! It's not like you have neighbors close by!

      1. Bacon! will only poop in the tall grass, that means late night walks out to the back field, or feeling him shake all night long because he's trying to hold it until morning. The walk is less annoying & well it's pretty much mean to make him hold it. These walks include traipsing along tree lined paths that are littered with spiders; I don't do spiders and it can take hours for me to get over the web in the face.
